she wanted to make a quilt of her own and asked me to pick a design ...so i picked xegon ..so that she can do it whenever sge feels like sewing ...
once she finished with the quilting ..i took it home and do the binding ... here's my MIL xegon quilt ...

alhamdulilah .. was given a chance to make another doorgifts project for my brother in-law's dinner ... the theme will be purple .. so i decided to follow their theme and this is what they gonna get that nite ....

Yup ...its public holiday and Happy Labour Day to all !!

Me and love hubby decided to go to KL ..
just the two of us 

Well ... it was great ...no jam no hassle and the best was .. parking space ...we can afford to be choosy ..hihihihi

Our first stop was Jalan TAR .. Bought some fabrics @ Nagoya for my sis in-law's project

@ Kedai Bunga Reben for threads n buttons

then we decided to take a bus ride ( after 22 years ! ) from Jln TAR to Petaling Street ...
should see how excited we were .... hahahaha

But sad to say ..we couldn't find what we're looking for 

After a hot walk down the street ...we went to to Kota Raya ... a shopping mall that full with foreigners ....

Took a second time bus ride of the day ... back to Jln TAR ... and this time we stopped at Pertama Complex (one of the first shopping mall in KL ) ... after a brief look see look see here ... we moved to Campbell .. shopping mall that full with limited edition or rare items ...

and before we went back to our nest ... called the boyz to meet us @ Ikea for late lunch ..

Thank you my love hubby for a GREAT day out ...!!

guess it's not an easy craft to master ...
missed count means ... undo and redo again ...
and for all i know ... i do it backwards :)
tried to do as they do it but i just can't ... so i decided to do it my way ...
and here are my backwards crocheted items ...

crocheted roses which i learnt from website's tutorial ...

make it as a brooch and found a place on my hat ...

crocheted roses on headband and scrunchie ...

still glued to the book i received and picked this beautiful pattern as my third project ... hexagon doily

second doily was my 1st. attempt to create own design ...
with a little help from the book as a starter ...
and after many times do and undo ,
missed counts ... here is my second doily ( owned by my dear friend Olly Tuang )

and now i'm on my next doily project...hope it will turn out to be nice and beautiful

finally i finished the quilt ( 91 x 111 inches )

was summoned by my aunty's friend to make this quilt ... pattern and fabrics were owner's choice...

actually the plan was ... i sew the top and she do the quilting ...

but she changed her mind and i got the honor to finish the whole quilt ...

and i'm happy with the end result !

after few rounds flip-flop flip-flop the book finally

this book really user friendly as all patterns come with diagram ...

it makes my crocheting days easy ...just refer and count ... hehehe

but it took few days for me to finish it as i'm just a beginner ...

so first lesson was ... cutting templates and blanket stitches and sewing the bag

second day ... Aten was alone and Leyaa have to go to work :)

it's a surprise door gift for Adik's reunion yesterday ...

it was her ITM Sura Gate reunion ... adik was really looking forward for this event...

she summoned me to do 20 pieces .. a simple drawstring pouches ....

with a simple lettering to mark their get-together ... have asked Maz to help me with that ...thank you Maz !

looking at their reunion photos ...i'm sure they had a great time !!!

went back to hometown yesterday after so many moons ....

we talked about everything ... old and new

when comes to old ... mum asked to bring back some of her collections ...

they have been waiting for these bags for quite sometime now...

made these bags from pre-cut Amy Butler 4.5 in squares ... Adik got it from Ebay :)

and handles are handmade by my aunty Hanim ( browngardendream.blogspot.com)

it's done... so now it's up to my lovely sisters to pick according to their taste ...

which i think i know which sister gonna pick which bag ...hehehehehe

when i'm thinking of baking bahulu traditional way....i thought .."crazy dream..."
then when a friend Suriti Omar n hubby willing to buy for me the
brass mould ...i asked myself .."are u sure??"

then during Raya i visited my aunty Mak Hindon and she passed to me her knowledge ...i said "must do it!"
then when all my family and friends gave me their surpports... i said " I CAN "

today is the day....

being waiting for today ... thank you Nina for joining ..
waste no time ..start the mission ...

10 duck eggs (1bowl) wt 1 3/4 bowl of sugar

start ...beat it.....until it reallly fluffy ..we took nearly 2 hours ...

preparing the stove ... burnt the charcoals ...place it onto the cover

can't deny the failure..hehehe
we do burnt few before we got the perfect one ...

now i know..i should have heat the mould first ... get the right tempreture
then...baking begins ....

the result...look at Nina's happy face and you tell me ...hehehehe

happy.....

gonna bake again ...for the 3rd.round !!!

after awhile ..only now i have a chance to introduce our family's latest edition ... ANIQUE ASHRAF RAFFAIN AZIZEE ...
met him last raya after 3 weeks of his birth ... due to sore eyes :(

made him this simple baby quilt ...
really love this fabric from Ikea ... simple and colourful ..it's fun !!
quilted every single one ... and bind it with a colourful stripe fabric also from Ikea ...

don't get me wrong..i'm not promoting Ikea ... i just love the fabrics :)

well....i've been down with sore eyes for nearly 3 weeks

and finally today ... my eyes are back to normal ... it's not 100% tho'..:(

at least no more headache ... swollen and itchy eyes .. only a bit of red lines here and there...

it was the most unproductive 3 weeks ...

Alhamdulilah...thank Allah , hope i'll be able to get back on track ...

decided to have a lesson via Youtube ...

it was hard at first bcoz ... i'm not use to the terms used ...

but their tutorials are wonders ... it was quite easy to understand ..

i spent the whole afternoon learning until my fingers sore

but no regret ...i'm happy with the result eventho' i see red everywhere now :)

it was raining outside and Olly came with goodies from China ...actually wednesday it's our sewing day ... ( used to have more but now only Olly )

she showed me her latest baby quilt project ... Airshow baby quilt..i like :)

a bit of sewing here and there ... with cuppa hot tea ... ermmmmm nice !

and as for me ..trying to finish my bag ...

by the end of the day ....besides ...raining ...good companion...good laughs ... cuppa of hot tea ...

quite sometime i didn't get myself a new BHGCC ... just b-coz it cost more than before...

but today.. it melted my ego with it beautiful projects inside ...

so i got myself this SUMMER 2010 issue .. i thought i MUST have it..!!

during my sick week ..i made these hair clips ... birdies

last weekend...it was the 6th. WCM Family Day - Permaisuri Resort , PD

just so happen that we gonna celebrate Father's Day next week .. so the wives decided to give

the WCM fathers the early celebrations....surprised them with cupcakes and felt card...

i was down with fever and flu for nearly two weeks...

just imagine i didn't do any sewing for that durations ...

bad headache ... running nose and those aaaaaaachum ... have pulled me

away from my sewing box :(

i guess that's enough ...forced myself ...looking for what i have and

i found this ....

then thinking of what to do with it ... decided on sewing tote

big one :)

tried to handquilt it but my eyes still can't tolerate with those tiny needles ...

so machine quilt it ...

no lining ...

2 in 1 appliqued pockets ...

which was decided after the body was sewn ...

tie the sides ... for the different finished look

loose ...

add orange ric rac to the handles ....

that's how i got my BIG sewing tote bag ..... :)

then she called me and told me ... surprise !!!!! baby is here ...hahaha ... my sis got wrong info :P

so we decided on just a bag for the newborn baby girl ... Balkhis (hope i got the spelling right ..)

went to Kelvin and fall in love with this brown polka-dots fabric ... i just love it .... got to admit that i bought the same fabric for my next baby quilt ...hehehehe

well...it's something different from me :)

frankly..'m not good in baking but really wanted to try my hands on it.... cheesecake with blueberries topping.....

my dear A.Ani is an expert in baking ... her cheesecake..muffins..brownies..known by all not only by families and friends ...but even a fish seller in Shah Alam wet market too....hehehe

i've gotto try it..b-coz it's my love hubby favourite...

finally ...last nite i got the "push" ... and after my sleepless nite ... finally i got a chance to taste
