miss pinky sunbonnet sue...

....i'm so excited to finish up this pink baby quilt...this quilt (42 x 60 in.) is for my friend's daughter ...who is now living in Australia... actually... i make a baby quilt for her grand-daughter with this pattern before... so she wanted a same pattern but this time... all in pink ...i was a bit worried ... not in making but in chosing the colours....but now looking at the finished product....i'm soooooo very happy with it.....not bad aah?

yatta!!..after 2 quilting days...finally i finished the quilt last night...really looking forward to see the final result....in making this i cheated a bit ...hehehe....well, normally...finished the blocks then only join the quilt...but what i did...joined the quilt then only i stitched the appliques...a'ah naughty me..!!!! just can't wait to see how's the outcome...

i make six blocks of Sue with different touches of pink dresses..thanks to my sis in-law Liza for the pink remnents....(which i hardly have...daaaa!!)

and each Sue is holding six different kinds of flowers...

and hand-quilt it.....walla ....presenting.... the Miss Pinky Sunbonnet Sue...really hope they will love it....

recycle..reuse...

well...i wish i could talk about this matter and make this lovely mother nature more greener...so let's do it ...ladies!!!

and now i'm talking about my sewing recycle project....actually...i've seen alot of Japanese people do this....they recycle their cloths especially their winter clothings...they turned old sweaters to children cardigans..men shirts, obi and old kimonos to quilts and small hand-crafts...i really admires their way of thinking ..and here i am trying to do the same thing...

i bought this so-called .. 'light sweater' which i normally wear it...during my night outings...a'ah it was so happened ..one day i accidently dropped a chemical X...(just like powerpuff girls...hehehe....) and left few spots on my sweater....front and back..!

i put it aside for quite sometimes...and suddenly my " ideas - bulb " lite-up....and decided to do simple applique on it...just nice to cover the X spots...on front bodice ..a flower and on the back ..a butterfly......

and now i got myself .'.an old sweater with new look......

so....come on ladies...don't just simply throw...i'm sure there are alot of other things that we can recycle....such as handbags (magnet buttons and handles..)..torned jeans (applique on it)...old and torn cloths (buttons..)...actually... those are the things i did....so let us... recycle and reuse ..i'm sure all of you can do too.......

from Ebay...

...i was on Ebay (at Adik's house ) and saw this pre-cut 4 inches x 40 squares...i just love the earth tone combinations...actually i never try any bidding before...but i really wanted to have that fabric...so i decided to go on and try my luck....and just so happen that the lady luck was on myside that day...i won and got the pre-cut fabric for just USD5...well plus postage i only have to pay RM28....i don't know whether it's worth it or not...but i'm soooooo happy !

two weeks later...i received the package...wow! it feels great...
well... i didn't wait long to decide what to do with it...yup! i decided to make a table-runner ....yipheee...i got myself a new table-runner for my old coffee table....

i just love the combinations and settle with it...no need to add any other fabric...except for the borders and binding... which i got it from my scraps bag....hehehe

once joined ...i added a little bit of simple embroideries on the borders....sewn a curvey lines with running stitches and chain stitches to form the leaves

and add-up some buttons....for flowers

and wallaaaaaa...here's my new table-runner
