well.. .it's a quiet Saturday evening for me...my love hubby took Azeem and Adam to Bangi for soccer game and Aliff was out with his friends... and i was left home alone ...

at first ..thought of joining them but i really need to finish making the boxes ... and glad that i decided to stay... now the boxes are done ... next step , wrapping it which i feel it's easier than making it ....really hope i can finish it by next weekend !!

while waiting for the glue (using contact glue) to dry and ease away my backache ... i found a sweet and cute project to do... it was a felt purse which i saw and learnt from http://paper-and-string.blogspot.com
the purse was so sweet ... so i decided to make one as the tutorial looks so easy to follow...and really happy with what i made ... thank you !

here's my sweet felt purse ...

today , i'm glad that i'm home alone ... with 20 finished boxes and a cute felt purse ... who wouldn't ?

p/s : now am thinking of making felt cases for shades and phone ....

local beauty...mangosteen

wow..this craze really hit me bad...when Makonem suggested "mangosteen"... i really feel i should take the challenge...it was sleepless nite for me..thinking i must make it ....MUST...and i did..

after finished my 'suppose to do' this morning while waiting for my love hubby to come home...(actually we are sending Aliff back to Malacca...p
urgh, i'm missing my babies like crazy....!!!)
i took out my purple felt...whatelse....cut...sew and filled...and for all i know this is the result .... our local beauty .....miss mangosteen... sedap nya lama tak makan!

the making...actually i'm using the same technique as making the crunchy apples ... and added the top petals (sorry i don't really know what it call..)
well..i love to see the outcome but tell me what you think of it....does it look like a mangosteen or else...???? and now i'm thinking whether i'll be able making it as...half mangosteen which i think it would be lovely combinations ....purple and white ....????

many did know i'm into rubic cube also...as can be seen in the photo ...that's my loyal past time friend beside sewing....the bestest time i ever made was 1 minute and 40 seconds...not bad aaah?? now both Aliff and Azeem are master in it....i would really love to put my hands on 4 x 4 rubic cube...but not now ...later i will !!!

weekend project - pencil case

another weekend...it was hot saturday here in Shah Alam ... really donno what to do ... my love hubby was working ... my boys were all over ... thinking whether i can become a king of the day....just like King Midas ... just with a touch everything turns to gold ...used to believe in that ...when i was small of-coz ...hehehe

then looking at all the pencils laying around the house...decided to make a pencil case...( he will start looking for it when school starts...that's my Adam )

i start looking for fabrics..scraps actually ...to make myself a pencil case ...joined the strips...basting... quilting with my favourite quilting lines..spiral.. then a zipper... i thought i'll be able to finish it fast but...again i'm not good in putting the zip...after sew and rip and sew and rip...with books as reference ... i still had a hard times putting it ... then i knew my problem... the zip was slightly shorter than it should be....aaaaa'h finally ...i got it!!!!!

here's my King Midas's touch of the day...not so gold pencil case

to all i'm wishing ...have a wonderful holidays...HAPPY SCHOOL HOLIDAYS..!!

weekend project - patchwork "japanese" bag IV

i guess..i'm gonna talk about another weekend project...(the last one..for now!)...with the japanese quilt book...which was brought back by my love hubby from Japan... as a reference...we started the project...this time we decided with blue tones... i love blue.!!

the bag pattern consist of 2 sections...the top part were 2 x 2 in.square...which were placed slanting and the bottom part was a 12 x 5in rectangular... which was cut according to the pattern given...this measurement were changed from centimetre into inches....

the fun part of making this bag was...putting the squares...since that we are making two bags at a time...(64 squares for one bag)... to keep all the squares in place from blown away...we pinned it onto 4 cushions ..one for each side..!!! with pins all over the room ..we keep on
shouting everytime they try to sit on it...lucky there's no butt got the pins..purghh!! but i'm glad we managed to finish the bags on one weekend...

...the book... the pattern....

weekend project - patchwork bag III

well here i am again...talking about another weekend project bag...we decided to make it PURPLE bag this time...we go thru' all the purple-pink fabrics and as a result ..we got this..!!

4 1/2 x 4 1/2in square...4 blocks x 8 blocks....and now i'm using button (magnet) from inside...with two dummy buttons outside the bag...just for deco !

p/s ..the wall-hanging is my xegon quilt...hand-pieced n hand-quilted.(52 x 74in)

weekend project - patchwork bag II

well...well...well..another bag for a weekend..this bag was slightly smaller...we decided on 4x4 in squares and make it as 4 blocks x 8 blocks ...again hand-quilted ...with a suede leather handles...

the bag was joined in banting...but when i reached home i decided to do something different from the previous bag....i think hard that night...then i decided... a zip and flat bottom!!!

this bag was easy to make but putting the zipper ...really challenging...i've never make a bag with a zipper before so ...i can't sleep thru'out the night thinking...how???as they always say...it's easier said than done..but i'm glad...maybe it's not perfect but it turnout to be ...just fine !

weekend project - patchwork bag I

whenever i was back in banting...for sure my sis-in law Liza will try to take advantage out of it...well i'm glad..at least now we have few weekend project bags...

this bag was an ad-hoc project..so we call it a weekend bag....firstly we select the rose printed fabrics ...all colours..then..choose...then..we cut the selected fabrics..6 x 6 in. square...joined into 5 blocks x 6 blocks..hand-quilted it...make a bag with recycle leather handles...the handles were hand sewn...
p/s the coca-cola sewing tin is my fav. item..gift from beloved hubby..thanks sayang!
