weekend project - pencil case

another weekend...it was hot saturday here in Shah Alam ... really donno what to do ... my love hubby was working ... my boys were all over ... thinking whether i can become a king of the day....just like King Midas ... just with a touch everything turns to gold ...used to believe in that ...when i was small of-coz ...hehehe

then looking at all the pencils laying around the house...decided to make a pencil case...( he will start looking for it when school starts...that's my Adam )

i start looking for fabrics..scraps actually ...to make myself a pencil case ...joined the strips...basting... quilting with my favourite quilting lines..spiral.. then a zipper... i thought i'll be able to finish it fast but...again i'm not good in putting the zip...after sew and rip and sew and rip...with books as reference ... i still had a hard times putting it ... then i knew my problem... the zip was slightly shorter than it should be....aaaaa'h finally ...i got it!!!!!

well...for all we know it's already friday...and another school holidays.....that's how time flys...soooooo fast

and as for me..still waiting for my "not so cheap labour " to finish his task...Aliff took the challange...hope i'll be able to restart next week......

while waiting... i made two bears

the tiny bear was from one of my chinese version patchwork book ...given to Linda's daughter... Ain (Linda is my geng kantin sekolah member...hehehe)

Linda will be following her husband to Kota Kinabalu...selamat jalan....till we meet again !

and for my niece Atyn and i guess ... Yana .. Seha .. Aiman .. yet to receive theirs.. so they will have to wait...tungguuuuuu!.

and a small Sunbonnet Sue wall-hanging for Pah (simply sewing)..

well..actually, i promised Pah the Sunbonnet Sue templates...and sent to her about a month ago...but unfortunely my letter went missing...MIA !!

i was so frustrated ...and decided to send her another copy and a small wall-hanging,

as a sample...

my bags ... III

the patchwork bags.....

i guess ..bags are the best give-away items...almost all my patchwork bags were given away as a gift...in fact that's the fastest project to be completed so....why not? here are some of the bags that i made ...

given to my love hubbys' aunts...Mak Tam and Chik Bibah ...as bag telekung...(2bags ...same design)

given to the girl next door Nana (..when she got a place in UM to further her studies...)

for my MIL as bag telekung...she picked the pattern and choose the fabrics...

now i taking a break from my mega project...while waiting for Aliff to finish with the task that i gave....i make him draw the quilting lines for my 3rd.phase of the project...hehehe

don't know whtr i'm gonna shakes my legs and relax or find something to do...think..think and think...? any suggestions.?????

continuation...

i was soooo eager to finish up the second phase of my project...it was late already...at times my mind do play it parts...scaring me with the horror story that i saw earlier...keliwon....friday night pulak tu.. seram jugak...aaaaa'h it can't stop me from achieving my targets....must finish all the pouches before Friday...it gonna be a busy weekend ...so MUST FINISH.!!!

and the clock struck 12 midnight....i finally placed the last piece into the box.....yahoooooo...completed!!

and now i'm preparing for it...still using the same materials....cut...lace...fibre...backing...but it will take a bit longer to finish ..more work to be done... draw the quilting lines ... basting...quilting...purghh! ... but i got an idea...aaah i'm gonna hire a cheap labour... help me to draw the lines... either Aliff or Aiqal ... i'm sure they want to earn extra pocket money.....yesssss great idea..clever me... hehehe gonna ask them later..:)

wall-hanging ...Japanese pattern

well...again adik wants me to make her a wall-hanging to be given to their personal friend..(sorry i forgot his name...) as a gift ... to be hang in his new office...

the pattern was taken from this Japanese quilt book .. .

i took the book to the shop in order to get the nearest colours for the appliqued...but knowing me..i do change a bit here and there...

the quilt (30 x 39 inches) was hand appliqued and hand-quilt .... and my sister framed it..

it looks simple but i love ....the way it looks.....simple yet elegant......

another weekend...

well... another great weekend...it was our get-together week again...it was Ayu Fauzi's turn...this time it was sewing cum surprise birthday celebrations for my love hubby ..whose birthday falls on that day (16th.)...En.Talib (15th.) ... Maz's hubby and En.Sam (13th.)...Anum's hubby ....so Happy Birthday guys ....and thanks alot Ayu n Fauzi for that lovely and yummy powerpuff girls cake....i love it !!!

we push off a bit early that day...we're going back to Maran....yahooooo balik kampung...after quite sometimes we keep on posponing our trip back...finally we're home....home sweet home...

those naughty nieces and nephews were waiting for my hubby....for the tradition birthday celebrations...but he was good... he managed to escape the attack for few times but.... as they always said.....you can run but can't hide...finally he was attacked.....

happy 45th.birthday sayang....we love you....muaaaah!

the next morning we have the cake cutting for the May babies...my love hubby and our little princess Daania Zahra Azuree whose birthday falls on 14th.May...happy 1st.birthday

songket handbag...

it feels sooo good .... finally my sis in-law's bag is done...

actually she gave me the materials for quite sometimes already...but it was put on hold b-coz i can't get a nice handles to go along with it..it's a remnent from her traditional dress ..baju kurung..it is terengganu songket...

last week , i received handles from MakOnem....i knew right away it gonna be for this particular bag....and i'm very happy with the result...(aaaa'h my mega project have to put on hold again.....)

the fabric is songket...with leather handles and coconut shell beads (my hubby bought from Thailand) to form the gathers...just like my bag but i think materials do plays it part ....hope she 'll likes it....matching with her baju kurung....sedondon ya kak.!

my new mini HP...

well ...this gonna be my first posting using my newly received mini HP lappy (HP Mini 1001TU) from my love hubby... mother's day gift...thanks alot sayang....now i got my own lappy...from today i don't have to wait for the vacant lappy already....yahooooooo!

my love hubby wants me to make my own case...so i did...i spent the whole day making it...just a simple one tho'.... simple but nice...

i choose the japanese cotton to mark the ownership..hehehe so sorry boyz ...thought of making a patchwork out of it ...but the fabric is already look nice on it's own ...so i decided to do quilting only....full spiral quliting pattern...

just to share the latest edition to my treasures' list....

mother's day...

well....let me start by wishing all of you mothers...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ...thank you for the never ending love...thank you....thank you..terima kasih mak...

and as for me...no celebration tho' but it started with Azeem.. who jumped into my bedroom in the middle of the night..wishing me with his hugs and kisses...then came Aiqal ..i was about to have my good night sleep...i heard he's saying ..happy mother's day..mama ....this morning it was Adam turns...a'aah this year... Aliff became the last one to wish me...aaaah lupa ya?...well i understand..he was busy preparing for his final paper this morning... (he's coming back today after his last paper)..thank you sons.....i love you.!

i called up mak at home...it was a bit touching tho'...tears in my eyes...i don't know why she cried when i wished her... tried to figure out why??? well sooooo many reasons that i can give...maybe b-coz ... i didn't go back to see her for quite sometime now....or may be b-coz none of us went back this weekend... or may be ...may be...a'aah so many reasons that i can give... forgive me mak for not being there...but...i love you..mak..

today..we were invited to go for kenduri doa selamat at my love hubby's aunty house....Aunty Bardot's second son just got engaged last night....congrats to Khaled n Iman

at my aunty's house we were served with Nasi Ambeng...cooked by another aunty...aunty Noor....aaaa'h fantastic ..my husband has 9 aunties and 2 uncles....(12 of them including my MIL)...

almost everybody were there...hugging them..wishing them happy mother's day and deep inside me...i wish i could hug my mum...emo lah pulak!

then to complete my day...went to A.Ani's house to collect home-made cheese cake..the best even Secret Recipe also terpukul....believe me ...yummmmmmy..thanks to sis in-law Liza....

what to wear????...really don't know what to wear..it was sooooo hot..but then i choose my one and only self-made baju kurung...the material was given to me by my mother in-law ... it was a indonesian batik ....i love baju kurung johor...especially the neck...jahit tulang belut...which i don't know how...just look at me...i stitched blanket stitch-detached on it....

and as promised to Pah and Aniza...i posed for you lah.....i decided to use the brown handbag...

p/s..while posting this..Aiqal came and asked.."mama, no mother's day dinner for you?" ..i said "no"...then Azeem came in and bring me drink...with his smiles..Happy Mother's Day , mama...asked me to close my eyes and served me the drink...oooo Lychee ...he makes me air laici...how thoughtful , thank you..mama sayang semua....!

i'm sooooo happy to share with all of you who have being following me and mega project ...today i finally finished the 60th. bag...after all those break-away moments that i took ..i'm glad that i'm able to finish it within time.....

here are the 60 bags....all over my sofa...purghh..i'm so relief...soooooo happy!!

my beads bag...

as i promised..now i will talk about my beads bag...it is more like my formal handbag...i'm not really a handbag lady but i need to have one in order to go along my traditional dress... baju kurung gi rumah orang kahwin...hehehe

the fabric is thai's silk and pearl beads for handles.....this bag is meant for my dark colour traditional dress.......

the same fabric but different colour and the handles is a string handles which my love hubby bought in Japan.....

well..i'm really on top of the world right now...i guess the news really lighten-up the burden ...from the day he sat for exam...waiting for result...waiting for the interview...the result....then finally yesterday ... he got the place... which i thought it was the best icing for the cake...Aiqal...Aiqal...

.....let me change the topic ... and talk about my "sack" tote bag...the material is sack look-alike...which i got it from makonem...this bag will be the starter ... the first bag for "my bags" posting...

it was my first time dealing with this type of material...i've been sneezing like what...trying to figure out how to cut the material...then i know how to deal with it....draw...sew the out-line and cut..well it's not easy to handle this type of material... it will fraaaaay...aaaaachum!
